year to play golf. For years, we've paid good money to travel around
the world only to be beaten by one of the brothers Grimm. Indeed, they
are the true Bandit Masters!

Welcome to the Bandit Masters 2016 Tour Results |
| You
can't go wrong going to Vannes and this was certainty the case for the
Bandit Masters 2016 tour. Good weather and lots of bars and
restaurants, where you can have a main course as a starter, followed by
an
even bigger main course and loads of wine, what could be better!
Unfortunately the reigning champion, Rex, could not be with us this
year but we had a great stand-in, Micky Garret, who slotted-in
really well, except being unable to cope with Bob's snoring.
Well what about the golf? A lot of the Bandits had only played a handful of games since last year and Tom and Windy were complaining of bad backs, so expectations were not high. In the end, after last year's topsy-turvy results, it was back to "situation normal" with the brothers Grimm dominating. Some of the matches were very close. I'm sure Trevor will recall St Laurent were Trev and Micky G were 3 down against Windy & Mike with 3 to play and then Trev managed to halve the match on the 18th with a birdie from 25 feet away. For some reason Trev felt this was worth celebrating and spent a fortune buying beer in the Paparazzi (Bag Noz) bar. A little later "tired and emotional",Trev retired early to bed dreaming of winning like Mo Farah. After the usual shaky start at the tight course of Rennes St Jacques, the brothers took over, taking the top two slots on day 2 and 3 at St Laurent and Val Queven. Martin was the only man to have a chance on the last day but there was too much to do on the final round at Baden. Congratulations to Luddy and another excellent performance wins the Bandit Masters trophy. Tom was 6 points behind and then Martin in third. Micky G made the first division on his debut - very impressive! There was then a big gap to the depths of second division where only 2 points covered 5th to 8th. So a good tour was had by all. We all missed Rex desperately. We wish you all the very best and to get well soon so you can have another shot at the trophy. Here’s to next year. Vannes, anyone? |
