The Bandit Masters 2010

The Bandit Masters is a competition for 8 guys that get together once a year to play golf. For years, we've paid good money to travel around the world only to be beaten by one of the brothers Grimm. Indeed, they are the true Bandit Masters!

Welcome to the Bandit Masters 2010

Granville in Normandy was the venue for this year’s Bandit Masters.  On the hole (sorry) we were blessed with good weather – even managed to miss a torrential downpour by literally seconds at Vire Dathee.

The calm conditions, and the relatively short links courses, made for some impressively low scoring this year.  Martin (despite concerns with his back) had an outstanding week, zooming up from the depths of the second division in 2009 to take second place this year. Mike was next, keeping himself in division one for the second year running – good shooting Mike. Trev was the final member of the premiership, taking his time to gain 4th spot.

The real interest was the competition for the wooden putter. Some of us just couldn’t help putting ourselves in contention for the most un-wanted prize of them all.  On the evening of the presentation, Tom, Windy and Rex were all convinced they were in the frame. But amazingly, when all the strokes were counted, and re-counted, the eventual winner was huge surprise. By just 2 strokes, Bob was awarded the wooden putter by a much relived Windy. Bad luck Bob!!

As expected, Luddy made the most of his opportunities, playing all 5 rounds par or under - the bandit!!  However, there’s no denying it, Luddy played exceptionally well all week and thoroughly deserves the title of “The Bandit Master 2010”. Congratulations Luddy.
