Welcome to the Bandit Masters 2019 Tour Results |
| The 2019 Bandit Masters tour was based in St Jean de Monts in the Vendée for the
first time. It took a bit longer than usual to get there,
mainly due to loads of roundabouts and bloody camper vans over the last
30 miles. It was worth it, the hotel was good and, with a bit of
Googling, we found restaurants that catered for quantity and quality
with Le Petit Saint-Jean and Quich'notte providing an extra-special
treat for all the senses. The weather was warm and sunny for the first couple of days but we were caught in the occasional squally shower towards the end of the week. The courses were also mixed, with Saint Jean de Monts standing out. The golf was very much as expected with Luddy not playing well on the first day with only 24 points. However, as usual, he then found his form shooting hyper-bandit scores of 40, 39 and 41 points to become the clear Champion. The rest of us just couldn’t keep up; Mike had a go, amassing another hyper-bandit score of 44 points on day two but was beaten by Luddy’s consistency. Rex was a highly creditable third and Tom played very steadily to keep himself in division 1. As often is the case, the contest for the Wooden Putter was far closer. There was big gap of 9 points from devision one to two and only 3 points separated 5th to 8th. In the end, to the gratitude of all his fellow division twoers, Windy, without coming last all week, was consistently bad enough to win the Wooden Putter. Congratulations to Luddy, averaging a very impressive 36 points you are the deserved winner of the 2019 Bandit Masters trophy. |
