The Bandit Masters is a competition for 8 guys that get together once a year to play golf. For years, we've paid good money to travel around the world only to be beaten by one of the brothers Grimm. Indeed, they are the true Bandit Masters!

Welcome to the Bandit Masters 2014 Tour Results

The rather upmarket seaside resort of La Baule, in Southern Brittany, was the venue for the 2014 bandit Masters Tour. Before we left, Rex while at Gleneagles no less, summed up expectations really well:

"From what I hear Martin is playing very steadily (and probably should be cut!), Windy has had his good round for the year, Petar has been starved of golf but we all know he will be practicing hard for the next 2 weeks, Tom continues to manipulate his handicap, Trevor feels confident is his new swing (heard that before) and Mike has been to an 'Anger Management' course (heard that before as well!). I too have been playing reasonably well.

I think it will be a close shout this year with no clear favorite and the battle for Div 1 or Div 2 could be as tough as it has ever been. Bring it on!"

So what actually happened? Well, in the end, the outcome was predictable but there were a few ups and downs on the way. The first day at La Baule was a surprise with Windy having his second good round of the year, finishing in first with 38 points. Could it last? Of course not!

The following day at Savenay went more to type, with Petar & Tom in the top spots - an omen perhaps? Then, the front 9 of the coastal course of St Jean de Monts, really sorted the men out from the boys: Tom went out in 19 points but Luddy and Windy really struggled with a record low of just 7. Luddy got his act together from then on, Windy didn't!!

On the morning of the last round at Pornic, Tom lead by 3 shots from Rex, by 4 from Martin and Luddy was 8 behind. Surely it was one of the top three to win....but yet again no..... with an incredible round of 41 points, Petar stormed from behind to clinch the trophy by just 1piont! Congratulations Peter. Tom was second and, with of handicap of 17.4, I'm sure he feels robbed! Rex, with some excellent straight driving came a very creditable third and Martin, despite some torment on greens, fourth.

Somehow Windy, managed to miss last spot with Bob taking the wooden 2014 putter.
